Planning a wedding during COVID-19

How to plan for your wedding during COVID-19.

We are all settling onto a new normal and everyday the government is issuing new guidelines regarding social distancing you might be asking how does this affect me? If you have planned a wedding for early summer the verdict is still out. Fall weddings are still not sure what to do. This exciting time is now filled with fear and worry. What will it look like to postpone? What steps do I need to take? How can i handle all of this? I am here to make this as easy and a stress free as possible.

Should I postpone or cancel my wedding?

Most governments are issuing a limit to the number of people for gatherings (2-10) and as of today we are all experienceing lock down for all things except absolutely necessary business. we do know that the end of the year and 2021 are getting busier by the day. So what will you decide to do? Ido not hold a crystal ball so my best advice is to get a second date -even if it is a tenative one. That will at least end your anxiety and give you some clarity. If you are in isolation this is a perfect time to give 100% of your attention to attending to those details.

The key is to refocus all of your attenetion on rescheduling so you don’t lose all of those non refundable retainers you have paid towards your wedding. Taking the time to prepare for this with allof your vendors you so you actually have a light at the end of the tunnel and can relax. Our policy here at Alison to the Altar, is that if you have paid your deposit and need to reschedule your date, we will just transfer this straight to your new date with no penalties at all.  At the end of the day we are committed to giving you your dream wedding and we want to make sure that you have the best day of your life.

How far out should I postpone my wedding ?

We are expecting a busy 2021 already. Many of our 2020 spring/early summer clients who can’t find a fall date or who absolutely want a spring wedding are pushing to 2021.
