Wedding Planner vs. Wedding Coordinator

Lately I have been receiving A LOT of questions about the difference between a Wedding Planner, Wedding Coordinator and a Day Of Coordinator. So I decided to outline of of those duties below. It is very important to know what you are paying for and getting.

A wedding Planner will work with the client from the start. Helping with the selection of everything from vendor selection, hotel rooms, florist, cake, photographer hair & make up, transportation, anything needed to pull the wedding. They are with you from start to finish of the wedding planning process.

A coordinator will come in at the end and make sure everything goes off with out a hitch. Checks on deliveries, make sure the reception has the look and feel desired by the client. Pretty much to make sure the day runs smoothly and will handle any hiccups along the way to ensure an easy flow on the wedding day.

A ceremony coordinator will work during the ceremony to ensure everyone gets where they belong at the right time and the ceremony flows as it should. They can help the photographer with pictures and get guests to the reception. They may or may not have anything to do with decor.

It's important to understand who you have hired to navigate your wedding experience. Don't be afraid to ask questions and always make sure you have a complete job description outline! Planning a wedding can be a tricky thing, make sure you know how much help you need!
